![]() He was gentle and civil and my date and I enjoyed ourselves thoroughly. He also had a very long 18" prehensile tongue that amazingly pulled any banana parts out of our hands. He has a specially built barn and two story platform just so he can enjoy the guests' attention. They explained that Stanley has been in tons of commercials and TV appearances and is somewhat of a celebrity. After meeting and feeding and petting several Yak, buffalo, horses, llamas and other semi-exotic mammals, we met none other than Stanley, the giraffe. She was bit and spat on, behavior that camels exhibit even when not in estrus. ![]() Although they warned us to avoid them, one of the foreigners wandered too close. The animals were all well maintained and well mannered, with the exception of the camels that were in heat. For me to rate a five star, they need to be better organized as we all stood around for almost an hour after a very quick check-in. There was no place to sit down and standing an hour put a stress on my back. There was no chance of missing our tour, and unfortunately because it was cold and drizzling all morning, the open-air vehicle left nearly half an hour late. The instructions indicated us to arrive thirty minutes early to ensure we were checked in. ![]() The only complaint was one of timeliness. A beautiful 1000 acre ranch and vineyard. We booked the morning excursion, a ninety minute tour around the Semler estate in Malibu off Mulholland Drive. ![]()
