The more powerful 580 models are the quickest and should accelerate from 0-60mph in around 4.6 seconds. Both come with dual motors and all-wheel-drive as standard. You can get the new Mercedes EQS SUV in the UK with either 360hp in the 450 model, or 544hp in the 580. That said, only the middle row comes with the option of extra touchscreens for each outer passenger. There’s just enough space in there for adults (on short trips, at least) and you can get five-zone climate control and heated seats across the board to keep everyone comfortable. Why? It makes it much easier to climb into the rearmost seats – yes, the EQS SUV is available with an optional third-row turning it into a super-posh seven-seater. Unlike the saloon, the EQS SUV comes with electrically adjustable back seats that can slide forward by up to 130mm. It looks great and comes with boatloads of features, but it’s also a magnet for grubby fingerprints… This replaces the whole dashboard with a massive display made up of three screens set in a single (vast) piece of glass. It has a similar blanked-off grille, near-identical bumpers and equally fancy-looking headlights – albeit with some new triangular running lights. The new Mercedes EQS SUV looks (unsurprisingly) like a pumped-up EQS saloon. Business Class models also get the Hyperscreen as standard. Your extra cash gets you some upgraded seats, lighter wood trim on the centre console and an augmented-reality heads-up display that can project sat-nav graphics onto the road ahead to help you spot imminent turnings. If you fancy a Business Class version of the Mercedes EQS SUV, you’ll need to fork out £143,495 for the EQS 450, or £153,495 for the range-topping 580. You get a 12.8-inch touchscreen in the EQS 450, while the 580 gets Mercedes’ gigantic ‘Hyperscreen’ setup as standard. The AMG Line Premium Plus gets black Nappa leather as standard as well as a sports steering wheel and dark wood trim. Prices for the Mercedes EQS SUV AMG Line Premium Plus start from £129,170 for the 450 model, rising to £139,170 for the more powerful 580. ![]() New Mercedes EQS SUV AMG Line Premium Plus The new Mercedes EQS SUV is available in two trim levels, AMG Line Premium Plus and Business class. It’s on sale now and will set you back from £129,170. This model is now expected to arrive by the middle of 2021 as a 2022 model. The new EQS is available with a choice of motor setups, but all come with the same huge 108kWh battery that’ll give you up to 365 miles of range. The timing is a little unclear at the moment: The Q4 e-tron was originally announced for late 2020, but it remains to be seen whether Audi will be able to hit this mark due to all the delays the early EVs from the Volkswagen Group have experienced this year. Expect pricing to start around $45,000, which is about where the well-equipped ID.4 First Edition will land as well. Since this will be an Audi model all-wheel drive will be standard, offering a 300-hp output. Under the floor the Q4 e-tron will stash a 82.0-kWh battery, which will give it a range comparable to the ID.4 or perhaps even a little more, up to 280 miles, but it will offer a more upscale interior and exterior styling largely borrowed from its larger e-tron sibling. Meant to be a junior companion to the larger e-tron battery-electric SUV, the four-seat Q4 e-tron will use Volkswagen's MEB platform that will underpin all ID models while offering a relatively modest footprint. ![]()
